IMS

IMS or dry needling is a physiotherapy technique where a sterile needle is inserted into a muscle trigger point. Trigger points are not acupuncture points but areas of increased muscle spasm and tension. Inserting the needle causes a stretch reflex reaction and allows the muscle to relax. IMS is typically used to treat chronic pain and inflammation that is caused by neuropathy or muscle tightness.

IMS is effective for conditions such as:

Tennis/Golfer’s Elbow
Shoulder pain
Hip and IT band pain
Achilles Tendonitis
Plantar Fasciitis
Sciatica
Chronic muscle tightness
Myofascial Pain Syndrome
Chronic Pain

Dry Needling / IMS can be done alone or in conjunction with other manual therapies such as Chiropractic manual therapy or physiotherapy treatment such as corrective exercises and stretches.

IMS Fees

Initial Assessment $100
